Hello people ,Today I am going to give you a guide on how you can make and receive calls using Huawei modem from your personal computer.
For those using desktops,you need to have an external microphone and maybe a speaker that is if your CPU doesn't have an inbuilt speaker.
most of the Huawei modems are supported in fact all of them are supported since the software we are going to use is provided by Huawei hence you don't have to worry about bugs.
"why isn't this software provided as the default?",I am sure that is what you must be asking youself but the reason behind this is that the service providers,i.e Safaricom,Airtel,Orange and Yu provide their own altered version of the mobile partner dashboard which can not make calls.The mobile partner dashboard provided by Huawei is not so different from the one provided by the service providers.As you can see below,the only difference is the call button.
N/B- This software works on unlocked modems only,but don't worry,by the end of this tutorial you will be able to unlock your modem.
- This software supports Windows and Linux.

HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR HUAWEI MODEM
Unlocking your Modem is not that hard,just a few steps and you are done.
Here are a few ways you can accomplish this :
1.Unlock it online from specific websites.
2.Unlock it from your computer using unlocking software.
3.Request Huawei to unlock it for you(This means its not illegal).

The site will ask for your modem's IMEI / IMSI number then it calculates the unlock code.
How you use the unlock code is explained at the end of the tutorial
-IMEI code is indicated at the back of the modem.
-You are also at liberty to google for other sites.
2.Unlock it from your computer.
You need to download the following code generators before we proceed.
Download it here.
-pleas do check the huawei supported.
Download it here.
N/B-This applications are very lite thus dont need to be installed for them to run.
-You will need WINRAR to open the compressed files.You can download it here.(you can choose 64bit or 32bit but I recomend 32bit).
3.Request Huawei to unlock the modem

-This seems like the best way though I haven tried it.
How to unlock the modem using the unlock code.
-Insert unauthorized sim card into the modem e.g if the modem was tailored to safaricom users,insert a Orange or Airtel sim card.
-You will be asked for the modem's unlock code.
-Enter the unlock code from the code generator and you can now use your modem and of course with any simcard.
-After inserting a new sim card,you may need to create a new network profile.
You may use the following settings.
Profile name: Safaricom click 'static'
APN: Safaricom
Access number: *99#
Username: saf
Password: data
Click 'save'
Profile name: Airtel click 'static'
APN: ke.celtel.com
Access number: *99#
User name: leave it blank
Pass: leave it blank
Click 'save'
Profile name: YU click 'static'
APN: internet
Access number: *99#
User name: leave it blank
Pass: leave it blank
Click 'save'
Profile name: Orange click 'static'
APN: bew.orange.co.ke
Access number: *99***1#
User name: leave it blank
Pass: leave it blank
Click 'save'
How to make a new profile.
-Open dashboard and navigate to Tools>options.
-Go to profile management and click on new.
-Fill in settings according to your network.
>Now plugin your modem and launch the newly installed mobile partner dashboard.
Enjoy making calls from your PC.
